The global banking sector experienced a shock in March 2023 following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. TRA prepared this document to outline what helped lead to the failure of Silicon Valley Bank, the resulting loss of confidence in the regional banking sector, and the U.S. regulatory response to the crisis. We are also incorporating the lessons learned from this crisis to help us better underwrite banks as both tenants and counterparties to our clients.
